Overview:The Fall Protection Specialist will grow the Company’s relationships with manufacturing representatives and customers. Field work taking measurements and pictures to solve fall protection needs is required and the use of technical, design, and organizational skills along with customer knowledge to assist them in applying the products/services to their needs. In addition, develop new prospects and interact with existing customers to increase sales. Once a solution is chosen, must be able to cost the project and create a detailed scope of work and quote for presentation to the customer. Once the job is awarded, must be able to project manage the job from start to finish.
Responsibilities:

  • Make sales contacts, research customer needs and develops application of products and services submit bid requests forms, sketches, detail drawings and photos
  • Develop and deliver sales presentations and close sales
  • Participate in sales forecasting and planning
  • Create quotes, correspondence, reports, and other documents as needed
  • Participate on a team with suggestions of development for new products, modification of existing products and termination of ineffective products
  • Timely manage assigned sales budgets
  • Develop and maintain communications in a cooperative and professional manner with all levels of staff and customers using established guidelines
  • Travel with or without manufacturer reps meeting potential new clients, customers, setting appointments and site visits
  • Identify target customers and promote our full range of fall protection products the Company manufactures and installs
  • Following projects through from beginning to end
  • Read and interpret drawings on-site and off-site
  • Maintain customer and potential customer database
  • Analyze project with inhouse design team and make recommendations to solve fall protection needs
  • Create solutions and ensure a smooth sales process
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:Education
A high school diploma or GED is required; an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Marketing, or related discipline; in the absence of a degree, directly-related job experience serving in an industrial sales role, where a number of years and proven knowledge may offset the degree requirement

Experience & Skills*

  • At least 5 years of sales experience in an industrial, construction or distribution environment
  • Experience meeting and exceeding sales goals
  • A proven track record of building and maintaining effective customer relationships within different organizations
  • Must have the physical ability to climb up to rooftops to perform a complete site inspection
  • Understand and interpret OSHA & ANSI codes relating to Fall Protection.
  • Demonstrated technical and mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge in reading drawing/blueprints and using measuring tools and sketching
  • Comfortable working at heights
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing that meets company requirements
  • Strong analytical, conceptual, and planning skills are required
  • Overall PC literacy (Microsoft Office) are required
  • Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, and disciplined with the ability to multi-task
  • Must successfully complete a criminal background check, physical, drug screen and E-verify
